Still ‘My Girl Hillary’
Today Senator Hillary Clinton did what was needed for the party because she is and has always been a strong Democrat. She had few options and if she had not given the small inch she did today she would have been crucified and vilified far beyond what has already been done. She would have lost her political relevance and been unable to do what she has always done and that is working ‘for the people’, more than either Obama or McCain could even comprehend.
She did what she had to do and not one inch more and I respect her for both. She did not concede, she did not give up her delegates or her campaign infrastructure as is usual. I respect her for that.
Today was the moment for her to move on, to do what she has to do to keep doing what she has always done.
To choose differently is a right she would gladly offer up to anyone. There are issues beyond the nomination that have to do with the Democratic Party and Barack Obama… not Sen. Clinton. I choose to stand on that side.
And as far as the two of them being so similar on issues and policies… do more than scratch the surface and you will see there are VAST differences between the two of them and those differences are VERY important to me.
Judge me as you will, it makes no difference to me as long as it is done without name-calling and hateful rhetoric. I have the same right as you to choose my path and make my decisions based on what is important to me. I support Hillary Clinton and whatever she needs to do… I always will. But what I have learned from her is to walk my own path.
